Weddings, Civil Partnerships and Registry Office Gatherings.

The following itinerary offers a fairly comprehensive description of a typical white wedding scenario. I hope it also proves useful to those couples who are planning a Civil Partnership or Registry Office union as much of the information can be applied to any such occasion.

We will, of course, look forward to speaking directly with you in order to formulate an itinerary which best reflects your own particular wishes.

Package A Pre-Wedding rehearsals.
£30 Includes 1 x Print

Attend wedding rehearsals and—subject to permissions—shoot a few informal and/or posed pictures of the gathering.

In the company of the (future) Bride & Groom, look at settings both inside and outside the venue where pictures might be taken on the wedding day itself.

Look at any indoor alternative (other than the wedding or reception venues) which might be used to stage photographs in the event of poor weather conditions. Subject to permissions. One photograph will be provided from this pre-wedding session — quite possibly the last picture of them both together as ‘singles’!

Package B The Bride prepares.
£40 Approx. Includes 3 x Prints

Visit the Bride at a convenient time in the hours leading up to the ceremony and try to capture some essence of the preparations. These will mainly comprise informal but tastefully composed pictures of the Bride and Bridesmaid’s preparations: hair being styled, wearing of the veil, setting of flowers, etc.

Package C The Groom prepares.
£40 Includes 3 x Prints

Along much the same lines as the above, but with the emphasis on the Best Man & Groom: straitening ties, pinning button-holes, etc. Again, these shots will be mainly informal but tastefully composed.

Package D The Bride leaves home.
£20 Includes 1 x Print

Pictures of the Bride, her escort and her maids leaving for the wedding venue; entering the carriage.

Package E The Wedding.
£600 Includes 25 x Prints

The Bride arrives.
The arrival of the Bride at the wedding venue; leaving the car, approaching the venue with her escort and Maids. These shots will be semi-informal; mainly un-posed and taken while on the move—the Groom’s nerves should be well stretched at this point and we wouldn’t want to further delay things!

The Service
Pictures of the Bride being presented; both Bride & Groom standing before the minister/official as they say their vows. (Subject to permissions and, where flash is not allowed, available ambient light).

Signing the Register
A collection of pictures with Bride and Groom alone and with Best Man and Maids.

The Wedded Couple with Family & Friends
Shots of the happy couple as they leave the venue to begin their Married Life together, followed by classic compositions including Bride and Groom with Best Man and Maids, with the couples respective parents; together with all parents; the Bride and Groom with the Bride’s family; the Bride and Groom with the Groom’s family, and individual pictures—without limit—of the Bride and Groom with family, friends and guests.

The Newly Betrothed
These pictures will be a mixture of formal and informal images. The photographer will already have looked at local sights and will have agreed with the Newly-Weds which locations offer the best settings for a collection of more intimate pictures of the Bride & Groom together. Of course, a previously agreed ‘Plan B’ may come into force if the proposed locations are not sheltered from poor weather on the day.

Package F The Wedding Breakfast.
£60 Includes 4 x Prints

The couples arrival at the reception venue; welcoming the guests; taking their places at the top table. The speeches, presentations and toasts. Informal pictures taken of various guests at their tables. The cutting of the cake.

Package G The First Dance.
£60 Includes 3 x Prints

Informal and—by Bride or Groom’s request—more formal pictures of guests arriving for the evening celebrations. The Bride & Groom’s first dance.

Package H 'Trash' the Dress. (Honest, we don't really ....)
£80 Includes 2 x Prints

Trashing the Dress” is an exercise which originated in the United States and has become increasingly popular in Scotland. Despite the title, the dresses need not be truly ‘trashed’ - unless you really want to destroy the dress they inevitably survive the ‘shoot’. ‘Trashing the Dress’ is probably best described as taking the dress out of its true context (the church, for example) and putting it—and the Bride of course— in a particularly alien environment. This usually involves the bride wearing the dress in her favourite places, e.g. Riding a mountain Bike down a slope, riding a touring bike along a road. Hill-climbing or even mountaineering in her wedding dress. Sitting in the pub with friends; at work; on a bus; swimming. The possibilities are endless and down to the imagination of the Bride herself.

Then again, this photographic opportunity need not be restricted to the Bride alone. Is there something you like to do together as a couple; fishing, golf, watching football, squash? Getting dressed up again in your Wedding finery—especially after the honeymoon is over—can be a really fun exercise, and the resultant pictures can add a comic element which will complement your Wedding Album.
